Current significant projects for Walton Robinson include the letting and management of the £5m Grade II listed Bruce Building development, alongside several major student developments on Tyneside, and the business has recently been instructed to sell a significant development on Teesside.
Established in 2001, the company is now looking to grow its turnover of £1.45m to more than £2m by 2018, adding new roles to its 40-strong team to support its expansion. Its headquarters are part of the iconic Bruce Building, and further space in the development has been taken by Walton Robinson to help it accommodate its rapid expansion.
Named after founding partners Mark Walton and Marcel Robinson, the company was bought out by Mr Walton in 2006, who went on to form a partnership with current co-directors Jaimie Lawton and Richard Ponton two years later.
The team have invested heavily in the online offering of the business, priding itself on its ‘full circle service’ to landlords and investors.
Mark Walton, managing director of Walton Robinson, said: “We have grown significantly across all areas of the business to the level that we are now being instructed on projects across the whole of the North East by major national clients. On a regular basis, we are chosen ahead of sizeable competitors who operate nationally, which is testament to the job we do and the service we provide.
“We have invested heavily in the online service we provide to clients across our sales, lettings and investment divisions, and were one of the first businesses of our kind to do so - taking advantage of online so early is definitely seeing us reap the rewards now. And also, because we have the benefit of working from one regional office, all of our people and operations are on one site, meaning we can effectively work together to handle all aspects of a client’s needs.
“Walton Robinson has grown significantly in recent years, and we are confident of growing turnover by about 40 percent to more than £2m, which is a very significant but achievable milestone for us. We are a very forward-thinking and dynamic business and are always looking to the future to ensure we stay as market leaders in our field.”
