Liverpool ONE welcomes three new restaurants

Three new restaurants are set to open in the Liverpool ONE shopping complex.

Grosvenor Fund Management (GFM) has revealed that Mexican street food eatery Wahaca, barbecue restaurant Reds True BBQ and Caribbean-style vendor Turtle Bay will be setting up shop on Hanover Street.

Reds True and Wahaca will share two floors of 111 to 116 Hanover Street, taking up 4,336 sq ft and 6,833 sq ft respectively. Meanwhile, Turtle Bay will move into 123 to 124 Hanover Street, combining the two units into a single 3,066 sq ft restaurant.

All three venues will represent Liverpool debuts for the three brands. Wahaca and Reds True BBQ are due to open before Christmas, while Turtle Bay will open in early 2016.

Commenting on the new additions to Liverpool’s dining community, the director of portfolio management at Grosvenor Fund Management, Miles Dunnett, said: “With sales, footfall and dwell all growing year-on-year, demand for space in Liverpool ONE is at its strongest, as reflected in these latest signings.

“Wahaca, Reds True BBQ and Turtle Bay each bring something very different to the city, and Liverpool ONE specifically, and will further increase its appeal as the most exciting retail and leisure destination in the North West.”

According to Grosvenor Fund Management, year-to-date catering sales at Liverpool ONE are up by 12.5%, while a recent survey from Markit and Visa Europe found that wider restaurant spends are up by 8.6%.

The co-founder of Wahaca, Thomasina Miers, commented: “Liverpool is unparalleled as a UK cultural hub, and we have been looking for the right location here for a while.

“The opportunity to move into Liverpool ONE […] was an easy choice for us and we’re excited to bring our Mexican market food, original street art and pure agave tequila and mezcal to Merseyside.”
