Astonish reports 11% sales increase following listing success

Astonish, the Bradford-based manufacturer of cruelty free cleaning products, has reported an 11% increase in sales to £17,056,807 as it announces nationwide listings with Staples and B&Q Marketplace.

As well as achieving growth in both UK sales of 12% and export sales of 7%, the manufacturer has also extended its distribution with agreements that will showcase Astonish branded products in 234 B&Q Marketplace stores and 104 Staples stores throughout the country.

Astonish has been able to continue its trend of double digit growth due to a two phased approach to sales focusing on UK based retailers and value outlets, as well as export markets including Japan, Central America and Korea.

Howard Moss, managing director, said: “The success of the Astonish brand goes back to our values as a business which are that we will produce low-cost products that are as good, if not better, than those of our competitors. People want quality and value and that is exactly what we offer.

“It hasn’t been easy and the market has changed irreversibly over recent years but we have maintained our approach and continue to develop new lines that give retailers a value offering and consumers’ products that they can rely on. If there is one thing we know about it’s cleaning and with 40 years of experience we have the heritage as well as the foresight to continue with our growth strategy to take even greater share of the market.”

After extending its product portfolio to include some 70 cleaning and personal care lines, Astonish is now focusing on securing further listings within the UK, while also working to establish additional export channels including Turkey and the USA.

All Astonish products are Vegetarian Society approved as well as being registered with the Vegan Society and Cruelty Free International.
