Bardsley Construction wins £13.85m construction contract for 147 apartments at X1 Aire in Leeds

Bardsley Construction has secured contracts worth a combined total of almost £50m with property developer X1 after being appointed to construct 147 apartments at X1 Aire, East Street, Leeds.

X1 has awarded six contracts to Bardsley, with the latest being a £13.85m scheme for 147 one and two-bed apartments in three blocks of between five and 13 storeys with office space, residents’ gym and basement and ground floor car park.

Work is due to start on site in September, with the scheme due for completion in May 2017.

The five contracts previously awarded to Bardsley by Liverpool-based Developers, X1 were a £13.6m scheme to construct 140 apartments at X1 The Exchange in Salford Quays, due for completion in April 2016.

A £7.6m scheme at X1 The Edge in Liverpool to construct a student accommodation block providing 231 student beds centred around 38 cluster kitchen and communal rooms, with residents’ gym and support facilities; which has recently been completed.

A £6.7m scheme to redevelop the Grade Two listed X1 former Salford Town Hall and Magistrates Court building as 125 one and two-bed apartments with roof top extension for further living space, a residents’ gym and retail space and a Manchester office for X1.

A £4.7m 160-bed student accommodation block at X1 Arndale House, Liverpool, and finally a £3.45m scheme to construct a five-storey, 109-bed student development at X1 in Salford.
