Bolton accountants partner with school to increase students’ finance skills
Cowgill Holloway, a Bolton-based accountancy and business advisory firm, has partnered with a local school to give young people an insight into the world of business and finance.
The company has teamed up with Bolton School to provide Year 12 students with the opportunity to increase their skills and knowledge in topics such as auditing and tax, business recovery, corporate finance and wealth management.
Rob Lord, a partner with Cowgill Holloway, said of the Future Stars Programme: “This is a wonderful opportunity for the Year 12 boys and girls. Our work experience programme offers students the opportunity to spend time observing and working on real projects within all departments in our firm.
“The programme is designed for students who are considering a future career in accountancy and finance. It will hopefully allow them to narrow down their career preference even further.”
He added: “It will also provide a platform should they decide to apply for a graduate scheme after university.”
Following a job interview-style meeting with a Cowgill Holloway partner, shortlisted applicants will be given a tour of the firm’s Bolton head office, while those who obtain a place on the programme will attend meetings, work on company projects and shadow Cowgill Holloway’s partners and senior managers.
