Lancashire development creating ‘thousands’ of jobs given green light

Property investment firm Praxis has been given the go-ahead for a 1,000,000 sq ft development in Whitebirk, Lancashire, potentially creating “thousands” of job opportunities.

Plans for the upcoming Frontier Park site include 35,000 sq ft of leisure, food and hotel space, according to Property Week, in addition to distribution units.

Praxis’ head of asset management, director Gabriel McLaughlin, said: “Frontier Park is a major development proposition that is not only exciting for us as developers, but also for Lancashire given it will create thousands of jobs for local people and encourage substantial inward investment.

“Now that we have secured planning permission we intend to hit the ground running to turn these plans into a reality.”

Praxis, which has offices in Manchester and London, has already secured a number of companies for the five-acre roadside area of the development, including a budget hotel chain and petrol station.

With construction expected to begin next year, work on Frontier Park is due for completion by the end of 2020.

Gabriel continued: “We will continue to work closely with the council, as well as local businesses and communities, to maximise the potential of this site and attract high-quality commercial occupiers.”

Northamptonshire-based development consultancy firm Ancer Spa acted as a consultant for Praxis during the planning process.
