BitSol Systems’ setup will be used to improve safety and monitor crashes

Manchester firm to run safety cameras for US Formula 1

An IT company in Manchester has delivered trackside safety camera systems for the 2015 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.

BitSol Systems, which is based in the Ancoats area of the city, has supplied the high-definition cameras and will operate them in partnership with data network company BGN Technology when the event takes place this Sunday (October 25).

Gregory Buchanan, BitSol Systems’ technical director, said: “We’ve been working with the teams in Texas for the past two years now, which is amazing and we’re pleased to be working with them again this year.

“We’re also expanding our track safety camera services into other track sports at the moment, which is fantastic news. Our team has already been out to Texas to set up the system and will be returning again fairly soon.”

BitSol Systems’ setup will be used to improve safety and monitor crashes. Further, the race teams will use the system to monitor their own performances.

BGN Technology director Roy McCullough commented: “It’s been fantastic working with BitSol Systems over the past couple of years, with them implementing their unique track surveillance cameras.

“They are an incredibly responsive team with an in-depth knowledge of networking, IT and setting up camera systems for trackside.”

Founded in 2012, BitSol Systems also installed a similar track-monitoring system for Moto GP.
