Pizzeria chain Croma marks 15th anniversary with Trafford Centre Odeon trial

Independent pizzeria chain Croma is celebrating 15 years in business with a new Odeon Cinemas partnership.

The Manchester-based restaurant group secured a contract with the national cinema operator to trial a new made-to-order service at the 23-screen Trafford Centre Odeon.

The partnership, called Croma Pizzapoint, will coincide with the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in December.

Michael Baker, Croma’s Manchester-based franchise operations director, said: “As we celebrate fifteen years in business, our partnership with Odeon Cinemas shows that as a group we are continually looking forward to developing new opportunities.”

Bosses at Croma, which has an annual gross income of around £5m, hope to roll the concept out to other Odeon venues across the UK if the pilot is successful.

Odeon’s retail director, Derek Nolan, commented: “Odeon Cinemas looks forward to building on our partnership with the launch of the Croma Pizzapoint.

“We have high hopes for this innovative food offer to take off, especially as it coincides with massive interest from audiences for the new Stars Wars movie.”

As well as its sites in the Prestwich and Didsbury areas of Greater Manchester, the group also maintains three 100-seat restaurants at Odeon cinemas in Tunbridge Wells, Loughborough and Edinburgh.
