Inflexion establishes British Engineering Services through RSA carve-out
Private equity firm Inflexion has completed the carve-out of insurer RSA Plc’s Engineering Inspection & Consultancy division to establish a new Manchester-headquartered company.
The new firm, trading in the UK as British Engineering Services and in Ireland under the banner of Irish Engineering Services, has a 450-strong team of engineer surveyors and consultant engineers to provide testing, inspection and consultancy services.
Simon Turner, Inflexion’s managing partner, said: “We are delighted to have completed this complex carve-out to see the launch of British Engineering Services today.
“Newly independent and led by an experienced management team, the company can now grow unfettered and capitalise on the consolidation opportunities available to create a new market leader in the UK and Ireland in the provision of testing and inspection services.”
Inflexion will work alongside the senior management team at British Engineering Services to grow the business and identify potential acquisitions.
British Engineering Services’ CEO, Stewart Kay, commented: “This is an exciting day for us and the start of a new era.
“Inflexion has already proven to be a supportive investor particularly in helping us strengthen our team with a number of valuable senior recruits.”
He continued: “We are looking to build on our technical expertise, knowledge, resources and accreditations to create a business that will shape the future of our industry.
“With Inflexion’s backing we can deliver the very best customer service in the market.”
The carve-out was led by company partners Flor Kassai and Tim Smallbone and investment director Edward Fraser.
