Bury-based equipment supplier marks 35th year with increased profit and turnover
An equipment provider based in Bury is set to celebrate its 35th year in business with a rise in its pre-tax profits and turnover.
Lex Business Equipment, which started out as a typewriter supplier in the early ’80s, grew its turnover by more than £205k and saw a 13% increase in its profit before tax in the year ending August 31.
The firm is now aiming to hit a turnover of £2m in August next year.
Wayne Elphick, the managing director of Radcliffe-based Lex Business Equipment, said: “The story of our success is our enthusiasm to embrace new workplace technologies, offer nothing less than an exceptional level [of] service to our loyal customers and above all to be fair and honest.”
To drive further growth, the company plans to hire a new photocopier service engineer and administrative apprentice at the beginning of next year.
Elsewhere, Lex Business Equipment has promoted its former sales manager, Sam Elphick, to the position of director of sales.
Commenting on his appointment, Sam said: “I’m delighted and honoured to be accepted onto the board of directors and am excited about my new role, along with the responsibilities and demands it brings - here’s to another 35 years!”
