Cassidy + Ashton delivers major Liverpool uni refurb

North West architecture firm Cassidy + Ashton has completed a project to transform facilities at the University of Liverpool.

The company, which has offices in Preston and Chester, finished work on the £1.1m programme at the university’s Chadwick Building.

The property, on Peach Street in the city centre, houses the Institute of Risk and Uncertainty, a centre for research into making the world a safer place.

Work on the 10,700 sq ft space included refurbishing unused offices, lecture rooms and meeting space, and replacing windows, doors and other features. Cassidy + Ashton also led the installation of new toilet facilities.

Chartered building surveyor Dave Owen, a director at Cassidy + Ashton, said: “Since the introduction of increased tuition fees, it’s now more important than ever for universities to offer students the best facilities possible.

“We have completed a number of projects at the University of Liverpool and are proud to be continuing our long-term relationship with this recent contract.”

The refurb follows a busy October for the firm, which last month completed work on a motorbike showroom in Preston, unveiled refurbished space at Bolton School and landed a contract with German supermarket chain Lidl.
