With the Help to buy scheme extended to 2021 in the Autumn budget, first time home owners are due to see a strong benefit from the creation of new homes in Seacroft, Leeds.

Following a competitive tender process, Strata were selected by Leeds City Council as the preferred developer for land at Asket Drive. The development is located adjacent to Easterly Road; one of the most important arterial routes into Leeds City Centre and will create a modern development of 128 homes on Brownfield land previously occupied by Maisonettes.

Strata are committed to working with local communities and businesses. The company are keen to ensure that the development will create new local jobs and training opportunities.

Strata’s Chief Executive, Andrew Weaver said:

“We are delighted to have secured this important development opportunity and have worked closely with Leeds City Council Planning Department in shaping the scheme. Leeds has a very buoyant housing market and our city centre ‘Flaunt’ development off Wellington Road has proven extremely popular since its launch this year. We are now very much looking forwarding to delivering another quality scheme at Seacroft that will raise the profile of the area and re-invigorate an important gateway into Leeds vibrant city centre”.

Leeds City Council executive member for transport, regeneration and planning Councillor Richard Lewis said:

“Leeds City Council is pleased to have worked with Strata to shape this development which will provide new housing, jobs and training opportunities to benefit local people.”

Strata are due to begin construction work on the project in January 2016. The properties will be for sale on the open market and available to purchase on the Government’s Help to Buy Scheme. The scheme consists a mix of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes to appeal to both first and second time buyers.
