Day three: FedEx festive top tips for small businesses

#3 Deliver a Personal Approach

Christmas is coming and at FedEx we want to help your business be fully prepared this festive season. FedEx customer Lumie advises on how to navigate its busy period while not compromising on its customer service this Christmas.

By Jonathan Cridlend, current CEO of Lumie…

“We research, design, manufacture and sell light boxes, and so our peak period commences at the end of the summer and builds throughout autumn to help people combat the winter blues. By the time December arrives we’re already in full swing for a further surge towards Christmas, as customers buy our products as gifts. As a result of taking full advantage of our quieter periods, we plan for this annually projected sales increase and urge others to do the same.

“We pride ourselves on our personal approach to customer care all year around – covering everything from our initial communication with customers, to getting goods to them swiftly even if they live on the other side of the world – so our customers can receive the benefits of our light boxes as quickly as possible.

“In order to maintain the highest standards of customer service, we review our in-house and external processes ahead of time to make sure we can manage increased capacity. This includes working with our logistics provider so they can help us adapt to a rise in demand over the winter months, while ensuring they reflect our brand values. We would advise other businesses to follow suit and plan as far ahead as possible, so standards are maintained and your brand’s personality continues to shine through even during a busy period.”
