Manchester IT business secures contract with Australian embassy
IT support business BitSol Systems has secured an on-going contract to install and manage IP surveillance software at the Australian Embassy in Ghana. The BitSol Systems team flew out to the West African country at the beginning of December to install and test the system and then deliver in-depth training for the embassy’s security staff.
The Manchester business is also now in talks with a number of other embassies in African countries to install similar security set-ups.
BitSol Systems technical director Greg Buchanan said: “We’re incredibly pleased to have won this contract to provide security services to the Australian Embassy in Ghana. We’re really proud to have contracts across the globe now, as well as across Greater Manchester. In October, we were working on our on-going contract with the Formula 1 team in Texas for the United States Grand Prix.”
Ben Adu, 1st Secretary at the Australian High Commission in Accra, said: “BitSol Systems has provided our IP Surveillance (CCTV) software to enable us to maintain a high level of security in accordance with Australian Government Procedure. We had issues with our previous providers and as such, did not have the confidence to implement their systems for live use. BitSol worked to a strict schedule and managed to complete a full install within a week which left us with a fully functioning and easy-to-use system. We look forward to working with BitSol Systems on future Embassy projects throughout Africa.”
BitSol Systems’ previous experience of government project working and existing security clearance was a key factor in being awarded this contract. The new project includes the installation of 24 high definition cameras, five viewing stations and one control room at the Australian High Commission in Accra. The cameras record over three servers to ensure the ultimate in security levels for the staff working there.
The set-up allows multiple service guards to monitor the whole site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The BitSol Systems team were on-site for six days and now support and monitor the system from the company’s Manchester HQ.
BitSol Systems is an IT support business, working with numerous SMEs across the Greater Manchester region and the UK. The business has been working with the United States Grand Prix in Texas for two years now to provide trackside cameras for all Formula 1 races, and has also installed a similar track monitoring system for Moto GP.
Having been launched in 2012, BitSol Systems is currently based in Urmston and provides all aspects of IT support, including server support, desk-top support, remote support, hosting and security solutions. BitSol works with companies with between one and 500 members of staff and has a custom approach to supporting each business’s IT requirements.
