Boodles expands in Manchester with new three-floor shop
Luxury jeweller Boodles is set to launch a new three-level store in Manchester city centre.
The company will move its Manchester operation into 3,000 sq ft of sales space at 13-15 King Street, with a major refurb of the site scheduled for early next year.
Boodles director Jody Wainwright said: “We’ve had a presence on King Street for a number of years and know that it is the number one location for luxury jewellery shopping in the North West.
“On the back of the success of our current store, we’re now looking to expand our presence in Manchester, and we’re delighted that we’re able to do this at one of King Street’s most prominent spaces.”
Property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton acted on behalf of King Street Estates Ltd, the property’s owner, during the deal, which saw Boodles sign a 15-year lease for the corner unit.
LSH’s Manchester-based director of retail agency, Jonathan Thompson, said: “This store is one of the best placed locations on King Street - surrounded by some of the biggest names in luxury jewellery and with a substantial frontage.
“It’s therefore no surprise that an iconic British brand like Boodles wanted to expand into the space.”
Founded in Liverpool as Boodle and Dunthorne in 1798, Boodles now operates nine branches across the UK, including a flagship store on Bond Street, London.
