Solar Energy Provider Global Group Expands and Rebrands
Solar energy provider, Global Heat Source, today announced a rebrand to Global Group. The move reflects a restructure to bring its solar energy division together with two new business streams, in risk management and solar panel maintenance. The rebrand follows a period of significant growth for the company. Recent months have seen the completion of the largest solar project of its kind with housing provider Cross Keys Homes, installing solar panels at over 5,000 residential properties in Peterborough. This project, as well as a number of installations across the UK, position Global Group as a key supplier across the UK. The refreshed image and structure also demonstrates the company’s commitment to the sector, which is expected to see the end of government tariff support. Many providers have already left the market, leaving homeowners with no on-going maintenance of their systems.
Global Group, has been installing solar systems for 7 years. Managing Director and founder, James McLinden, believes the appeal of clean, efficient, sustainable and free energy will remain strong, with demand for system maintenance contracts increasing as less-secure solar players leave the market.
McLinden, said: “We’ve obtained a good understanding of the business we want to be looking ahead and now have a new name and look which are reflective of our ambitions.
“The new brand and website makes an important commitment to our employees, clients and partners and sends a clear message that we are fully committed to getting people across the UK powered up with solar and that solar is here to stay.”
“Our new identity marks the next phase in our continued growth and expansion into risk management.”
McLinden founded the business as an import company bringing renewable technologies to the UK from the Far East. After witnessing the potential and importance of solar energy for a sustainable future, Global Heat Source grew to become a 100 strong team based in seven locations around the UK, with headquarters in Carlisle. Global Group is now split into three divisions: Global Heat Source, which handles solar installations; Global Solar Maintenance, which handles all maintenance, repair and follow-up work; and Global Risk Management, Offering Health, Safety and Environmental Training and Consultancy services to businesses across the UK [Richard please edit]. Global Group is one of a limited number of companies to offer a standalone maintenance service designed to plug the inevitable gap in the market when other operators, who were reliant on feed-in tariff income are forced out of the market.
