Fratello's gives back to those in need this Christmas
Jesmond Italian restaurant Fratello’s made a special delivery to The People’s Kitchen this December, helping the charity to support disadvantaged adults in Newcastle with much-needed food provisions.
The restaurant delivered pizzas to the charity kitchen for its users referred to as friends, to enjoy as part of its Fratello’s Cares initiative, working with the surrounding local communities in which it is based throughout December and continuing throughout 2016.
The People’s Kitchen relies on kind donations like this in order to operate and provide its vital lifeline of food, friendship and a better future to disadvantaged and vulnerable adults.
Jonathan Sabarre, group marketing manager at Cairn Hotel Group, said: “Fratello’s Cares has a real community focus as it is all about giving back to those most in need and spreading some festive cheer in the run up to Christmas.
“The inspiring work that The People’s Kitchen does to benefit the lives of vulnerable adults living in and around Newcastle is remarkable and it was fantastic to work with them as a beneficiary of Fratello’s Cares.”
Bob Eldridge, chairman of trustees at The People’s Kitchen, said: “As we’re a volunteer-run organisation and rely solely on donations of food and money, being recognised by businesses like the Cairn Group is essential for our survival.
“The Christmas period is an especially busy time for us so this generous donation from Fratello’s couldn’t have come at a better time. Our friends thoroughly enjoyed the addition of the pizzas.”
The People’s Kitchen is led by a group of around 200 volunteers who contribute to providing a high quality and relevant service for those in need, with a focus on friendship, the distribution of food and helping to achieve positive outcomes for those less fortunate living around Newcastle.
