West Yorkshire firms form new cost-cutting partnership
An Elland-based printing solutions firm has joined forces with a card payments company in Brighouse to form a partnership that will cut costs for both businesses.
The business deal sees ABS UK Ltd provide new and cost-effective printing systems to Yorkshire Payments, whilst introducing Yorkshire Payments’ ‘Yorkshire Pay’ virtual terminal service in order to cut costs on its own credit card transactions.
This collaboration came about after ABS contacted Yorkshire Payments to carry out a cost consultation and review its printing structure, which identified that the card payment solutions provider was spending over £1,500 per year using a low quality, single office printer.
ABS UK Ltd therefore made several recommendations to the business, and also installed a new A4 multifunctional printing system which is set to help Yorkshire Payments reduce its printing costs by a third each year.
James Howard, managing director at Yorkshire Payments, said: “Before having our new printing system installed, we were relying on a single inkjet printer that was poor quality and expensive to run. We have been very impressed with the new printing system from ABS, and their expertise has helped us to significantly streamline and reduce our annual print cost.”
Following the successful installation of its new printing system, Yorkshire Payments’ Director James Howard then worked with ABS to review the cost associated with the company’s processing of its credit card transactions.
As a result, ABS switched to Yorkshire Payments’ ‘YorkshirePay’ virtual terminal service to reduce the cost associated with processing its sales orders.
The product will enable ABS to process its sales orders securely, and is expected to save the company over 20% per year when compared to its previous contract with global payment processing provider WorldPay.
David Lees, marketing and CSR coordinator at ABS UK Ltd, added: “We’re delighted that Yorkshire Payments has seen significant savings on its print costs already, and by using our individual areas of expertise, we have been able to forge a mutually beneficial relationship that will cut costs whilst increasing efficiency for both businesses.”
