Yorkshire specialist recruitment agency plans expansion in 2016 after record breaking year

A specialist recruitment agency aims to create new jobs and grow its business by 30% in 2016, following a record breaking year.

Provide Education, which has branch offices in Barnsley, Brighouse and Worksop, assists approximately 2,200 teachers find supply teaching posts, as well as permanent jobs, in hundreds of schools across the region.

Established in 2007, the agency saw its turnover increase by a 75% in 2015 - and in November it placed a record number of teachers in to classrooms.

Barry Simmons, director and co-founder of Provide Education, said: “Following year on year growth for nine years, our workload increased phenomenally in 2015. We took more than 500 calls to get teachers in to classrooms and provide vital cover for lessons in November – and that made it our busiest month ever.

“We can only see our business growing again as we enter our tenth year because we are working with more and more schools across Yorkshire and the East Midlands.

“And this next term is traditionally the busiest time of year too, as schools prepare for tests and exams and need extra teaching support. We look forward to expanding again to meet demand.”

Over the last 12 months, Provide Education extended expanded into schools in Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire and also secured an agreement with Leeds LEA which enables the agency to work with schools in Leeds for the first time.

The agency’s strategy for 2016 is to sign up 30% more teachers to its books to fill short and long-term vacancies; many in primary education and also in maths, English and science teaching at secondary school level.

Provide Education also plans to create at least three new jobs to expand its 18-strong workforce across all three branch offices.

This past year the agency, which headquarters are in Barnsley, recruited five new people to and moved to larger branch offices at Thornhill Brigg Mills in Brighouse, while also doubling the size of its office space at Shireoaks’ Triangle Business Park in Worksop.

Provide Education started working with 30 schools when former teacher Barry and co-founder Katie Buckle, a recruitment specialist, set the company up in 2006. Now the agency works with about 500 schools.
