Action! Sheffield's Televideo targets £7m turnover following £100k investment

Independent outside broadcast company Televideo is set for growth in 2016 following a £100k investment from Finance Yorkshire.

Based in Sheffield, Televideo specialises in outside broadcast and production for most of the major television broadcasters including the BBC, Sky Sport, BT Sport, Eurosport and Channel 5.

Established in 1976, Televideo is now targeting a £7m turnover, up £2m on this year, and also plans to add to its 55-strong workforce.

The £100k Business Loan from Finance Yorkshire has enabled Televideo to acquire an uplink vehicle, meaning the company can now offer clients improved outside broadcast and production facilities.

Paul Scivill, Televideo’s managing director, explained: “The production and uplink vehicle means we can go anywhere and deploy a dish on top of the unit with a multi-camera operation to do live production rather than it being done from a studio.

“This means we can offer clients a more complete package – not only can we do the outside broadcast, we can deliver the content as well.

As well as operating 11 outside broadcast units, Televideo also works with a number of different kinds of support vehicle. The uplink unit has already been used to deliver work for the BBC’s One Show and BBC Music.

Finance Yorkshire’s David Ward added: “Televideo is a long established business with a great reputation for delivering high quality outside broadcast recording facilities to some of the biggest names in broadcasting. The company is well positioned with this latest broadcasting technology to grow further and create jobs.”
