Yorkshire law firm Cartwright King set sights on expansion for 2016

Yorkshire law firm Cartwright King, which has offices in Leeds and Sheffield, is looking to achieve a minimum of 10% growth in 2016.

Key areas of focus include fraud, cybercrime, court of protection, mental health, family and care practice areas, Cartwright King will attain business growth potentially through merger and acquisition activity as well as organically.

Priorities for the law firm in 2016 include increased investment in marketing, customer service and training.

While looking to recruit additional staff in 2016, Cartwright King is also planning to increase its focus on client care, efficiency and profitability through increased innovation and technology.

Rupert Hawke, Cartwright King managing director, commented: “I am feeling very excited about 2016, as we plan to continue to grow our business in all our 18 offices. There will be continued consolidation in the area of crime as far as the market is concerned, but as one of the top three providers in this category in terms of turnover, we believe we can carry on and indeed develop our successful track record in criminal law.

“Apart from focusing on organic growth, we will be looking at mergers and acquisitions on a case by case basis, with a view to achieving ABS status in the medium to long term. 2015 saw successful mergers with The First Law Partnership, Garstangs Burrows Bussin and Macnab Clarke, which were all excellent matches for us in terms of mind-set and attitude to delivering quality customer service – which are both critical factors when considering potential merger partners.”
