‘The People’s Soprano’ Rebecca Newman to open York hair and beauty salon
Classical singer-songwriter Rebecca Newman, named ‘The People’s Soprano’ by fans and the media, is set to officially open Thir13en Hair Design and Beauty Salon in York city centre next week.
Thir13een is owned and operated by Andrew McClintock, a hair design specialist who was trained in Dublin at Toni & Guy and at the Vidal Sassoon Academy, London.
He has previously worked in four York salons, as well as Manchester and Dublin.
The opening of Thir13en has also created five new positions at the salon and as the business develops, more job opportunities will become available. Andrew is now seeking to hire a further four stylists.
Rebecca Newman first rose to prominence when she reached number one in the Official UK Classical Albums Chart with her debut chart release in September 2014.
Commenting on the opening, Andrew said: “It is fantastic to be able to open my own salon in this beautiful city and to work with a great team of professional stylists and beauty specialists. We are all aiming to provide a comfortable, friendly and professional service in warm and spacious surroundings.
“Having Rebecca officially open Thir13en is a delight and even better that she has kindly agreed to perform for our invited guests.”
