Joanna Wake Becomes ‘Women In IT Awards’ Finalist

UK specialist digital skills training company ‘RAW Digital’ are continuing to celebrate their ongoing growth and success with Managing Director, Joanna Wake, being shortlisted for the prestigious ‘Business Role Model of The Year’ in the 2016 Women in IT Awards.

The shortlisted category is arguably one of the most highly coveted awards for women in business, celebrating not only individual achievement in the technology and IT niche, but also recognising the nation’s next female role models in business.

Recognised for their outstanding contribution as leaders of their respective companies over the previous 18 months, the shortlisted finalists will face a gruelling examination by a panel of judges who will examine a range of factors including the growth of the company, progress in their marketplace, innovation and the individual achievements of the finalists.

As the 2015 ‘Sage Northern Star Awards’ Social Entrepreneur of the Year and winner of Stockton Council Mayor’s Civic Award for Outstanding Contribution to Business, Joanna’s leadership of RAW Digital Training has seen the company become a household name in the North East, providing training for over 2500 businesses to date, having added worldwide brands to their client portfolio and delivering UK wide.

Joanna Wake commented “I’m absolutely overwhelmed to be recognised not only as a woman in tech, but as a tech company in the North East for what is such a highly regarded national award. With finalists like John Lewis, Shell, Coutts and other huge names, it’s a thrill to just be amongst such a high calibre of businesses and individuals. However, as a professional who had a less than standard route, if this recognition can in anyway inspire girls to have a career in Tech and other STEM subjects, then that would be the ultimate achievement”

The results will be announced at a Gala dinner to be held at the Grosvenor House, 28th January, London.
