Ted Baker posts strong Christmas retail performance
London-based clothing brand Ted Baker has announced a 10% growth in retail sales over the Christmas period compared to the same time last year.
Defying the festive chill felt by other retailers this festive period, the retail company, which opened new outlets in Australia, Saudi Arabia and Mexico, also saw a 39% increase in e-commerce sales.
In addition, the company boasted a 7.5% rise in average retail square footage, growing from 331,208 sq. ft in 2015 to 355,907 sq. ft in 2016.
Chief Executive Ray Kevlin commented on the strong retail showing: “The Ted Baker brand has performed well over the Christmas period against a tough trading backdrop.
“We continue to invest across international markets for the further development of Ted Baker as a global lifestyle brand.”
He added: “Commitment to quality, design and attention to detail underpins everything we do, as well as the talent, passion and ‘Tedication’ of our team. On behalf of the Board I would like to thank everyone across the world for their continued hard work.”
