FREE Programming workshop for women - Deadline 15 Jan!
Coding isn’t just for men, it’s time for women to get in on the action. This is the message that Django girls are trying to spread across the globe, and it’s working! To date Django Girls have organised 105 free workshops, giving 3235 women in 51 countries their first official introduction to a career in tech, and inspiring more women to fall in love with programming.
Their next FREE event is being held in Sheffield on 19th - 20th Feb. The workshop will be a beginners guide to coding, and by the end of the day you will have a live blog, to do with what you will but to get in on the action you must have applied by 15 Jan.
Programming is said to be “really simple once you get your head around the jargon” Django events let you learn as part of a small group, getting hands on free advice from the tutor.
A brilliant opportunity for anyone involved in promoting schools, not for profit organisations, small businesses or any potential bloggers out there who want to create their own platform.
Django girls, a non-profit organisation, was born in July 2014 in Berlin and started by two girls: Sitarska and Sandecka. Today, Django Girls is a volunteer run organisation with hundreds of people contributing to empower and bring more amazing women to the technology world and diversify the Python & Django community.
