Tech Entrepreneur on the road to success again

Yorkshire technology entrepreneur Justin Whitston has created an award winning, market leading technology platform in less than 4 years since launch in 2012.

His Company Fleetondemand provides cloud technology applications which are now used by over 60% the UK’s leading vehicle leasing companies and most global vehicle hire providers. In addition, the company works with the likes of the RAC to deliver enterprise software that’s link company fleets into a range of products and services including breakdown automation and integrated fuel cards.

No stranger to success Whitston became one of the regions most successful entrepreneurs having previously founded Nexus Vehicle Rental which delivered market leading technology into the sector in 2006. Following a sale to private equity in 2008 Nexus has become one a Yorkshire success story and was recently acquired in a 51 million deal by Bowmark Capital.

“The mobile phone has opened out a whole new ear of opportunity” said Whitston. “I founded Fleetondemand to capitalise on the era of the mobile first generation. Over the next few years we will see this filtering through massively into the corporate workforce when it comes to the company car and mobility options. Our vision is to create the first Global Mobility as a Service platform dedicated to business and the millennial employee for flexible journey discovery options whether that by by company car, hire vehicle, train, flights or any mode of transport.”

To support expansion, the business is also due to open a dedicated Technology Developer Centre near Brewery Wharf in Leeds in March. The ‘Tech Centre’ will house its new product development teams as well as a dedicated disaster recovery suite. Head office will continue to operate from its offices near the World Heritage site of Saltaire, Bradford, West Yorkshire.
