Hull-based cladding specialist wins six-figure contract months after launching
Frazer Carter Group Ltd, the building envelope and cladding specialist, has secured a six-figure contract just months after launching.
The company, which is based at Hull’s The Deep Business Centre, has also made its first full-time appointment, adding to a team of two directors and eight site-based workers.
The project to cover the roof and walls of the 35,000 sq ft West Point Trading Park in Liverpool Street, Hull, is expected to take around three months to complete.
Graham Jenkinson, one of the company’s directors, said: “The building is owned by Ashtenne Industrial Fund Ltd, a leading owner and management company of industrial estates, and we have been appointed as the specialist principal contractor. It is a good project for us and a significant and key order to start the New Year.
“We are working directly to DTZ and Workman, the client’s appointed management professionals at West Point Trading Park. It was hard work to get on their approved list and it shows how professional we are. We can build and grow from there in this specialist market.”
Established in summer 2015, Frazer Carter Group aims to service the market locally and regionally for specialist external envelope and cladding services.
The company has already won a number of contracts, including a two-storey extension for Northern Access Flooring in Wincolmlee, Hull, Trespa rain screen installation at Bullrush Business Park in Doncaster for Hall Construction Group and stripping and re-installing an industrial roof at Keystore, Tickton for Thompson Construction (Yorkshire) Ltd.
West Point Trading Estate is a single property which houses 15 industrial units ranging from 900 to 3,172 square feet.
Graham added: “The owners want to improve not only the appearance but also the insulation and the performance of the building so we are putting a top coat on the existing roof and walls.”
“We work locally and regionally. We came to The Deep Business Centre because of the convenient location and the flexibility
“We have already added one member of staff, we expect to need a project manager in a few months and we can grow the business and still stay here by expanding into more office space.”
Freya Cross, business and corporate manager at The Deep, also commented: “We have a particularly good record when it comes to supporting start-up businesses because we work closely with our tenants, responding to their specific business needs promptly and as and when they need it.
“If a business needs more space quickly, whether to support long-term growth or a short-term contract, we can meet those requirements.”
