Knight Knox to deliver £4.7m student accommodation development

Knight Knox, the Manchester-based property investment firm, has started work on a multi-million pound student accommodation development in York.

The £4.7m Rathmell Hall scheme will feature 63 studio apartments to be let and managed by PRIMO Property Management, in addition to a cinema room, on-site laundry facilities and a gym.

Due for completion in Q3 2016, the 13,953 sq ft development is being built by construction contractor Colbre Projects Ltd, with Forshaw Land and Property Group serving as the scheme’s developer.

Michael Fenlon, Knight Knox’s sales director, said: “There’s a huge demand for student accommodation in York, but very few developments launching.

“Knight Knox is set to help fulfil this requirement with the launch of Rathmell Hall and I’ve no doubt it will be extremely well received – especially by the more discerning student who favours the more boutique style of living.”

He continued: “Being so close to the city centre and with all the high-spec amenities that today’s students are looking for, Rathmell Hall is a development we’re really proud of and that we’re certain will appeal to investors and tenants alike.”

The Rathmell Hall site is Knight Knox’s tenth student development built alongside with Forshaw Land and Property Group.

Forshaw’s director, Glenn Forshaw, commented: “This scheme has been designed with the future residents in mind.

“The units benefit from high-end appliances, quality fixtures and fittings and an overall contemporary design – we can’t wait to see the finished result later in the year.”
