Yorks’ Smith Brothers becomes first UK retailer to showcase German bathroom specialists new collection
York-based Smith Brothers has become the first UK retailer to feature luxury bathrooms from German specialists Villeroy & Boch.
Smith Brothers’ new Villeroy & Boch showroom officially opened on Saturday 13 February at their site on Osbaldwick Link Road, which was visited by representatives from Villeroy and Boch.
Smith Brothers, which has been serving York for five decades, is the first retailer in the UK to showcase the manufacturer’s full collection of new bathroom ranges. Villeroy & Boch specialises in creating designer bathrooms.
Gary McGowan, general manager, said: “It’s a real honour for us to be the first retail outlet in the UK to showcase Villeroy and Boch’s latest creations”. But that’s only part of what homeowners can sample in the new showroom environment, which also includes a host of other high quality luxury brands.
“It means that people can browse comfortably, take inspiration and design ideas from the entire collection of room settings and then talk to a designer about what will look right in their home.”
Oli Major, account manager from Villeroy and Boch, added: “Smith Brothers is one of our most established partners, with many years of experience dealing with the Villeroy & Boch range of bathroom products. This will be our most up-to-date showroom between here and Villeroy & Boch HQ in Mettlach, Germany.
“Combining quality products and design flair, Smith Brothers have created one of the largest Villeroy & Boch showrooms in the UK, demonstrating the blend of traditional and contemporary settings that is hard to surpass. We would urge all our Villeroy & Boch patrons to visit the Smith Brothers showroom for the latest and most imaginative bathroom display settings in the UK and to view our range of Villeroy & Boch bathrooms at their finest”
