Stockport-based Volcanic reveals international expansion plans

North West digital agency Volcanic has revealed plans for international expansion and revenue growth after launching a string of new offices last year.

Over the past 12 months, the Stockport-headquartered firm has established bases in Liverpool, London, Doncaster and Kuala Lumpur, with a turnover of £2.5m in March next year and £7.5m in 2018 on the cards.

As part of its ongoing expansion Volcanic, which specialises in web design for the recruitment sector, intends to open offices in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand in 2016.

Volcanic co-founder Rob Wilde said: “It has long been our intention to grow Volcanic internationally.

“We identified that across the world the UK brand is recognised as reliable and valuable, meaning its IT services are well received and trusted.”

He continued: “In Kuala Lumpur we were able to employ some brilliant local talent and build up a base in the area.”

To maximise its growth potential, the company sought the help of the Business Growth Hub, an enterprise support services provider. The organisation worked with Volcanic to create and deliver a strategy for its expansion goals, in addition to securing a £3,000 grant.

Bob Dackiw, a business growth advisor with the Hub, commented: “Volcanic is an excellent example of a business requiring guidance to take it to the next level.

“With our assistance, Volcanic’s new business model enables the firm to use its transferable skills in international markets to source candidates from across the globe.”
