Chester FC to sign sponsorship extension with MBNA
National League side Chester FC are set to secure an extension to their sponsorship deal with credit card firm MBNA.
The agreement, which will be formally agreed this Sunday (February 28), will see Chester’s relationship with the longstanding partner continue for a further three years.
MBNA chief exec Ian O’Doherty said the firm is “incredibly proud” to offer its support to the club.
He said: “[Chester FC] is the beating heart of the community and we were keen to not just continue our sponsorship but look at how we could increase our support by investing in the development of the women’s team.
“MBNA is a major employer in Chester and many of our staff are regulars at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium.”
Ian continued: “It gives us all a sense of pride when we see the work the club does in schools and with members of the community young and old to provide coaching and community activities.
“To know that we have helped make that possible is really special.”
MBNA first became Chester FC’s principle sponsor in 2010.
The club’s first team manager, Steve Burr, said: “I am delighted that MBNA has renewed its contract as Chester FC principal sponsor.
“Its support of the first team extends beyond the name on the shirt.”
He added: “MBNA are excellent hosts for our training sessions and always approachable regarding matters that can help us be successful on the pitch.”
