Doncaster-headquartered Keepmoat gears up with North West contracts worth £60m
Regeneration and housebuilding firm Keepmoat has announced a series of contract wins in the North West with a combined value of £60m.
The deals, secured across Greater Manchester and Lancashire, cover student accommodation, public buildings, retirement housing and the private rented sector.
Projects set to be delivered this year and next include the £13m construction and refurb of a bus station in Preston and the creation of new student accommodation for Cumbria University.
The company is also building a £19m apartment living scheme in the Hulme area of Greater Manchester.
Keepmoat’s North West director, Frank Mondino, commented: “It’s well publicised that there is a national housing shortage, but we can’t just build new homes and not make improvements to existing infrastructure to help communities to thrive.
“In the last year, we have strategically set out to look at ways we can partner with local authorities to regenerate areas across the North West to advance the existing foundations and offer more opportunities for local people.”
He continued: “As well as expanding options for student renters, we are providing a variety of homes for older people including those suffering with dementia, and will meet a wide range of housing needs for a number of generations in the region.
“These new projects not only offer us the chance to increase our presence in new markets, but also to look at alternative methods of tackling the skills shortage in our industry, through innovation and creating local employment opportunities.”
