Foremans makes £1.5m investment as demand for recycled modular buildings rises
East Yorkshire-based Foremans Relocatable Building Systems, part of the Portakabin Group and the UK’s largest supplier of recycled and refurbished modular buildings, has invested £1.5m in its building stock to meet the increasing demand for its services.
Foremans now has the largest selection of previously-owned Portakabin buildings, which are immediately available to further reduce lead times.
Foremans has also announced that its turnover has doubled since 2011, and a year ahead of target. In the past year, order value has increased by 46% and growth in the education sector is up by a record 94%.
Mike Williams, managing director of Foremans, said: “We believe these results and our investment reinforce our position as the UK’s leading supplier of quality refurbished modular buildings.
“Our approach to re-using Portakabin buildings combines all the advantages of modular construction – speed and reduced disruption – with the additional benefits of exceptional cost efficiency, lead times reduced by up to 30 per cent compared to new modular construction, and greater sustainability to help our customers reduce their carbon footprint.
“Every building is thoroughly refurbished and factory finished to the precise requirements of each customer – an approach which we believe is completely unique in the market.
“Our strong performance and the increasing demand for our accommodation solutions are testament to the quality of our buildings and our construction services.”
Modular buildings from Foremans are reconfigured to the exact specification for each project, and are fitted with new fixtures and fittings, creating accommodation for permanent or interim applications.
The refurbishment is carried out off site at one of Foremans’ two production centres, while ground works are progressed on site, further reducing lead times that are around 70% faster than site-based construction.
Foremans’ buildings can be purchased in single and multi-storey configurations and can be designed and refurbished for a wide variety of uses, including offices in the public and private sectors; teaching blocks and sixth form centres for schools; transport depots; health centres, and ancillary accommodation for hospitals.
