Nelson-based energy procurement company invests £50k in new office space
Lancashire-based energy procurement and management firm Businesswise Solutions has almost doubled its office space with a £50k investment.
The company acquired an additional 2,500 sq ft of space at its headquarters in Nelson, taking inspiration from the BBC’s offices at MediaCityUK during the refurb process.
The new space includes break-out areas, client hot-desking facilities and flat-screen TVs with rolling news, along with areas for networking and standing meetings.
Businesswise Solutions’ managing director, Frazer Durris, said: “Our workforce has nearly doubled in size to 23 in a little over a year and our turnover is projected to grow from £1.2m to £2m in the next 12 months.
“We needed an office that reflected our ambitions and that’s what we’ve got.”
He continued: “I regularly go to meetings in Manchester where the offices are designed to encourage creative thinking and agile working.
“When I saw the BBC’s office at MediaCity and the ‘break-out areas’ for staff meetings I decided to replicate that for Businesswise Solutions.”
Established in 2010, the company’s clients include furniture retailer DFS and Burnley Football Club.
Further highlighting Businesswise Solutions’ growth, Frazer said the firm’s order book has increased from £1.5m to around £4m since the end of 2014.
