Omnicell announces integration of Mach4 Pharma Systems LTD

Mach4 Pharma Systems Ltd, specialists in the development and production of automated drug dispensing systems, has announced it is now trading under the Omnicell name in the UK, following the acquisition by the global healthcare automation and medication adherence specialists last year.

Since the integration, Omnicell is delighted to announce it has been awarded the tender for robotic dispensing systems at two hospitals; University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and Bedford Hospital. The Omnicell robotic dispensing solution that both hospitals have opted for is the only medication dispensing solution in the UK to combine channel picking, chaotic storage and arm picking in the same system.

The system also releases pharmacy time so it can be better spent on face to face patient care and medicine optimisation – a key recommendation in the recent Lord Carter report.

Now part of Omnicell, the product range of robotic dispensing systems won’t see any immediate change, however customers will now benefit from a larger implementation and support organisation and a single point of contact - a named Omnicell account manager for each customer. The Omnicell service includes an ongoing commitment and partnership with customers and once a dispensing system is live, Omnicell provides 24 hour service, seven days a week with telephone support 365 days of the year. Omnicell already works with 100 NHS and private hospitals in the UK and this experience in pharmacy and supplies automation will support the Mach4 product portfolio.

Omnicell will fully integrate the business into the existing Omnicell UK and Ireland portfolio to deliver one complete experience from hospital to home. The robotic dispensing systems offer maximum automation with minimum manual input and can fit into most spaces in a pharmacy or hospital. All systems can be fully integrated with Omnicell’s automated dispensing systems.
