Vueling Airlines expands Manchester Airport services with new route
Spanish carrier Vueling Airlines is set to expand its presence at Manchester Airport this year with a new service to Tenerife.
The company will operate a weekly flight to the Canary Island between July and August, followed by twice weekly flights in September and October.
Gabriel Schmilovich, Vueling’s network planning, scheduling and slots director, said: “We are delighted to announce Vueling´s fourth route from Manchester Airport and looking forward to welcome the holidaymakers to such [a] popular destination as Tenerife.
“Vueling will be offering more than 108k seats available in Manchester for the upcoming summer season.”
Vueling, which is part of International Airlines Group (IAG), already operates services between Manchester and Barcelona. In June, the firm will introduce flights to Rome and Alicante.
Manchester Airport’s commercial director, Stephen Turner, commented: “We are delighted that Vueling Airlines has chosen to expand further from Manchester Airport for summer 2016.
“Tenerife is a hugely popular destination with our 23 million passengers, so this route will provide additional choice for those looking to visit the beautiful, sun soaked Canary Island.”
The Tenerife service will be operated with an Airbus A320, which is capable of carrying up to 180 passengers.
