Expanding butchery chain Crawshaws to create 40 jobs in Warrington and Widnes
As part of its ongoing expansion strategy, fresh meat retailer Crawshaws will create dozens of employment opportunities when it opens stores in Warrington and Widnes next month.
The two new shops, which between them will create 40 jobs, will be the 43rd and 44th openings in the butchery chain’s expanding North West store network, representing an investment of around £500k.
The Warrington shop will occupy a 1,200 sq ft unit on the former site of Boots Opticians, next to the Golden Square Shopping Centre, while the 1,300 sq ft store in Widnes will launch in the unit formerly occupied by Barratt Shoes at the entrance of Green Oaks Shopping Centre.
CEO Noel Collett commented: “We’re thrilled to be further expanding our portfolio in the North West region where we are able to offer our fantastic range of fresh quality produce at affordable price, which is already delighting customers in our new stores in Birchwood and Blackburn respectively.
“We are also very proud to be a key part of the regeneration and investment opportunity in Warrington Town Centre.”
Crawshaws Group plans to have invested £200m in opening 200 stores and creating 2,500 jobs by 2020.
Earlier this year, the firm opened a new store in Blackburn and another at Birchwood Shopping Centre.
