Update: David Beckham-approved cycling brand Velorution half-way to its crowdfunding target
Velorution, the cycling brand which counts David Beckham and Derren Brown amongst its past customers, has reached the half-way point of its new £500k crowdfunding campaign.
Investment from the campaign, which is hosted on London-based crowdfunding platform Seedrs, will be used to fund further stores across the capital and the South East, having already eyed up sites in Chelsea, Notting Hill and Canary Wharf.
The premium cycling brand specialises in entry-level urban cycles, clothing and accessories, epitomised by its flagship London store at No.75 Great Portland Street which stocks lines from over 50 emerging and established cycling brands.
Speaking about Velorution’s approach, Gretta Cole, Marketing Director of Velorution said: “New buyer trends have shifted to a sophisticated, modern, street-savvy demand to avoid the ‘generic’.
“Brand experience sameness has become a turn off. Consumers now seek the authentic, bespoke and original, and feel valued with a more personal purchase.
“For Velorution customers, their experience in store and online should feel like a return to the streets of France, where two French entrepreneurs brought something new to the world – the Velocipede, in the mid-1800s.
“Our brand strives to be a leading example of the innovation that has brought the bicycle into the 21st century. Our crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs offers an opportunity for our loyal brand ambassadors to be part of Velorution’s future.”
