Phase one of the Adelphi Wharf development in Salford

Fortis Developments to double Greater Manchester presence

Fortis Developments has confirmed plans to more than double its presence across Greater Manchester.

The Altrincham developer has identified a rising demand for luxury urban property in the area, which it attributes to growing confidence in the Northern Powerhouse.

With 866 apartments currently in development in Salford, Fortis said it will drive that figure past the 2,000 mark by April 2017 by bringing a series of new developments into play.

Fortis is currently working on the 400,000 sq ft Adelphi Wharf, a £75m residential project that includes an on-site gym, underground parking and landscaped gardens.

The firm’s current developments across Greater Manchester, including Bridgewater Point and Bridgewater Gate in Salford, have a combined value of more than £100m.

Kieran Moore, Fortis Developments’ director, said: “Our growth plans highlight our confidence in our offering and in the Manchester and Salford market.

“These twin cities will have a central role in the Northern Powerhouse and increased investment in infrastructure, along with a growing private sector, will ensure strong demand for quality housing.”

He added: “High quality developments are key to driving the further regeneration of Salford and are in line with demand from our clients, many of whom are buy-to-let investors looking for reliability, quality and potential within a scheme.”

Founded in 2012, Fortis focuses on securing brownfield sites for its projects. To date, the company has created more than 1,600 units.
