JD Gyms’ sixth fitness centre to create 15 jobs in Rochdale
The gym opening at Rochdale Exchange will create 15 jobs when it launches next month, according to the site’s bosses.
The new JD Gyms facility in Rochdale is looking to put together a strong team of managers, exercise instructors and personal trainers.
The fitness centre will be the sixth in JD Gym’s UK-wide portfolio, which is owned by Bury-headquartered JD Sports Fashion.
JD Gyms’ managing director, Alun Peacock, said: “By hiring such a large team of fitness experts at JD Gyms Rochdale, we’re able to offer exceptional fitness facilities including an extensive class timetable and personal training sessions at a convenient location.
“We’re extremely excited to be opening the doors of our sixth gym to the people of Rochdale in the coming weeks.”
Originally slated for an April start when it was announced in February, the gym is now due to launch in May.
The 26,000 sq ft, £1.5m centre will house more than 200 pieces of fitness equipment, a spin studio, sprint track, ladies-only gym and free weights area.
Rochdale Exchange’s centre manager, Lorenzo O’Reilly, welcomed the creation of new jobs in the town.
He said: “JD Gyms opening at Rochdale Exchange will not only be fantastic for the centre, but it will be a wonderful addition to the town.
“I’m delighted that the gym has opened up so many job opportunities to the Rochdale community and will be offering an out of the ordinary service with their state of the art gym.”
