LemonTop Creative takes on 50th Brewery
LemonTop Creative, a creative design agency based in Darlington, have reached a proud milestone in their business growth and have taken on a 50th brewery client. They recently completed a full range of branding design work for Little Critters, a Sheffield microbrewery. Little Critters asked LemonTop to create their logo, brand identity and beer range, as well as all of the accompanying POS and merchandise which can now be seen in pubs and bars throughout Yorkshire.
Little Critters are a family owned & operated microbrewery based in the famous brewing city of Sheffield, and are part of the Lancar Ltd business which includes two pubs in South Yorkshire, The Fox and Duck in Broomhill and The Doctor’s Orders on Glossop Road. Father and son owners, Mark and Matthew Steer, create high quality traditional ales, bringing in styles from around the world, but still using local, family owned suppliers.
LemonTop’s Creative Director Arron Stoutt told us “It was quite an unusual project to work on. Using animals to promote beer was an unconventional concept but the names and scenarios that Matthew dreamt up ensured we had all the inspiration we needed and the final designs proved to be striking, colourful and distinctive. We have created a number of unique animal characters, all designed to portray their own story and have their own unique personality.”
Andy Mogg, Director at LemonTop went on to say “The icing on the cake was seeing them all together on the Little Critters delivery vans design. We wrapped the whole van in a colourful, playful scene which portrayed the animals interacting with one another, creating a modern, extremely eye-catching design. It will definitely capture people’s imagination and will be an integral part of the Little Critters brand.
Little Critters owner Mark Steer told us how the brewery came into existence: “To give an added edge to the selection of beers sold in our pubs, I began brewing my own just over a year ago. I tried various different flavours and ingredients which were tested on my family and then we modified the recipes from there. Little Critters was born from this and we now have our own microbrewery where we will be brewing eight different ales, with three of them being bottled. I think we are now starting to see a the beer drinking community wanting to know they are buying locally produced products instead of mass market and often inferior variations. People want a quality product and want to get behind local suppliers and retailers. This is the reason you are seeing more people supporting microbreweries like Little Critters.”
Mark’s son and co-owner Matthew went on to say “The team at LemonTop have taken my rough initial ideas and created a stunning brand for our brewery. The Little Critters they have created were exactly what I was hoping for and they can be used across the full range of brewery products and merchandise we have. They have been patient and understanding throughout the project and their creative ideas and insight were just what we needed at this stage in our development.”
This is LemonTop’s fifth year in business and they are building a reputation for creative design with a boldly innovative twist. They now boast a client list covering various sectors including food and beverage, retail, automotive and construction.
