New milestone for Wirral-based oven valeting firm
Ovenu Wirral, an oven valeting company based in Ellesmere Port, has reached a new milestone as it enters its 10th year in business.
Since it was founded in May 2006, the company has completed 6,000 oven valets, averaging around 600 cleaning jobs per year.
Now, Ovenu Wirral’s owner Simon Kirkby plans to ramp up his services by expanding his workforce over the coming 18 months. In 2014, Simon took on Dave Glover as his first sub-contractor.
Commenting on the milestone, Simon said: “It has been a fantastic 10 years in business and I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.
“Starting out with Ovenu at the beginning of the recession was difficult, but I am very proud to have persevered and seen it through, with the firm going from strength to strength in recent years.”
Dave’s appointment, Simon explained, provided Ovenu Wirral with a “massive boost” by enabling the company to take on additional work.
He continued: “Hopefully this will continue and I will be in a position to recruit another member of staff to meet this increased demand.
“I am now looking forward to celebrating more milestones in the future and build on this period of positivity.”
Ovenu Wirral serves businesses and homes across the Wirral Peninsula, dismantling the main components of an oven and cleaning everything using non-caustic products in a process that takes from three to four hours.
The company forms part of a UK-wide franchise network comprising more than 100 businesses.
Ovenu’s managing director and founder, Rik Hellewell, commented: “Simon has dedicated himself to his business and deservedly reaped the rewards over the last decade. I would like to wish him and his team all the very best for the future.”
