Oldham contractor Medlock FRB achieves £25m turnover

Oldham-based leisure contractor Medlock FRB has achieved a record year after seeing its revenues soar by 35%.

In the 12 months to December 2015 the firm pulled in a turnover of £25m, up from £18.54m the year previous.

Medlock strengthened its customer base last year with a raft of new clients, including hospitality and leisure sector companies such as Empire Cinemas, Langdale Leisure and Casual Dining Group. The company also managed to secure repeat business with several existing clients, including pub and restaurant operator JD Wetherspoon and hotel chain Premier Inn.

Now, the construction and fit-out firm is on track to unlock further growth this year, with revenues across Q1 2016 coming in at £6.3m, an increase of 14% in comparison to the same three-month period in 2015.

Notable projects delivered between January and March this year include the £1m fit-out of the Dukes 92 bar and the £1.3m fit-out of the El Gato Negro restaurant, both in Manchester.

Colin Drury, the company’s finance director, said: “We are pleased to report that the company has achieved record sales and further progress against our business plan and strategy of continued long-term growth.

“Repeat business with our major customers has been a tremendous success, accounting for 68% of the sales total, while our customer base has been strengthened with the addition of further premium brands.”

He continued: “We have added key staff in the project delivery process, enabling us to deliver our projects safely, on time, to budget and to the highest quality, leading to further repeat business.

“We will continue to work hard to drive value while consistently delivering customer service and quality across the business.”
