Hill Dickinson short-listed for high profile award
International law firm Hill Dickinson has been shortlisted for ‘Litigation Team of the Year’ at The Lawyer Awards 2016.
The commercial litigation team headed up by Geraldine Ryan is one of seven firms to be shortlisted for the category. More than thirty teams entered.
The team entered four cases for consideration before the awards judging panel. The standard of entries has been described as of “fantastic calibre” by The Lawyer Editor, Catrin Griffiths.
Speaking of the entry, Geraldine Ryan, head of the firm’s Manchester office said: “The case summaries we submitted showed evidence of the teams handling of complex, high value, cross-border work – some of which had attracted significant media interest.
“We have deservedly been shortlisted against several City-based ‘magic circle’ firms. This is in recognition of the high calibre of work the team undertakes regularly and I am incredibly proud of the team.”
“Special thanks to those directly involved: Moya Clifford, Fiona Parry, Peter Southeran, Kelly Heath, Alex Smith and Sharon Williamson.”
The award ceremony is due to be held at London’s InterContinental O2 on Wednesday, June 29.
“This is a huge event in the legal calendar, with more than 1,300 legal professionals expected to attend,” Geraldine said.
Catrin Griffiths, editor for legal publication The Lawyer, which runs the awards, said: “The Lawyer Awards celebrates excellence across private practice, the public sector, commerce and industry, and the Bar. Now in its 22nd year, The Lawyer Awards has established itself as the leading awards initiative within the legal sector and it is unquestionably the biggest night of the year for the profession.”
