New digital platform to connect investors with disruptive startups
Online business community Directors Online Network has expanded its offer with the launch InvestorDirector.com, a new platform to connect investors with startups and other firms looking for equity investment.
Directors Online Network, which operates from an office in Manchester’s Spinningfields area, hopes to increase the number of startups in the UK with its new portal by cutting the cost burden of involving an investment broker.
InvestorDirector.com will put management buy-in (MBI) investors directly in contact with companies in need of funding or investment.
The service is free for those seeking equity, while membership costs £299 a year or £599 for three years for those intending to invest.
InvestorDirector.com has already racked up £800k in pledged funds from investors backing startups and other growing businesses they believe could disrupt the market.
The portal was created by a group of senior directors who found that the process of locating a new investment opportunity, after building and selling stakes in a business, was prohibitively expensive.
The CEO of Directors Online Network, Matthew Roberts, said: “MBI roles usually come through recruiters, headhunters and professional advisory firms, but through our platform they will be available to all at a fraction of the cost.
“InvestorDirector.com will have a wide variety of investment opportunities; we really believe it will throw open the market for entrepreneurs and investors due to the fact it costs very little to bring the right people together.”
He added: “This new platform is just another example of how Directors Online Network is shaking up a traditional market and in doing so, helping boost UK business.”
Directors Online Network currently employs a team of 54 people across its Manchester office and a second base in the US.
