Multi-million pound care home development in Maghull to create 60 jobs
A new purpose-built care home is set to create dozens of new Merseyside jobs when it opens in Maghull next year.
Launching in May 2017 with the support of a multi-million pound funding package from Yorkshire Bank, Damfield Park care home will be recruiting for 60 full- and part-time roles.
The site will be managed by Highpoint Care, which runs another in Haydock, near St Helens, and built as part of a new 11-acre care village scheme bringing new homes and health services to the area.
Set within landscaped gardens, the 44-bed Damfield Park will be developed from the ground up and include dementia-friendly areas along with a hairdressing salon.
Highpoint Care chief exec Alan Whittle said: “Damfield Park’s modern facilities and structured care are designed to enable us to provide top quality services to all residents at all stages of their stay with us.
“As part of our business plan we’ve made a commitment to ensuring our staff are trained to an extremely high standard so we can provide top quality care for all of our residents.”
He added: “Yorkshire Bank has been fully supportive in our vision and is working in partnership to help us achieve our goals.”
The development package was provided by Marc De Brabander, a relationship manager based at Yorkshire Bank’s private banking centre in St Helens.
The head of Yorkshire Bank’s business and private banking across Merseyside, Ian Walkden, commented: “Highpoint Care has been providing high quality healthcare in Merseyside since 2013 and the company looks set to continue with their new development in Maghull.
“It is extremely rewarding to know that through our funding, there will be a real and positive impact for the local community and economy, through the creation of a significant number of jobs and the provision of a necessary service.”
Ian continued: “As economic conditions continue to improve, Yorkshire Bank remains focused on supporting the growth ambitions of businesses throughout the North West and beyond.”
