Hull’s Cranswick plc becomes FEO Key Partner to help entrepreneurial community
Cranswick plc, the Hull-based food producer, has provided a boost to the entrepreneurial community, For Entrepreneurs Only (FEO), by becoming a Key Partner for 2016/17.
The partnership will allow FEO to continue working to create wealth and private sector jobs in Hull and East Yorkshire.
Cranswick plc joins six other companies which also have FEO Key Partner status, including Hugh Rice, KCOM, Lloyds Bank, Gosschalks, Smailes Goldie Group and Strawberry.
The support from these firms allows FEO to help budding entrepreneurs take their business ideas to the next level through a variety of initiatives and one-to-one mentoring.
Jan Brumby, chief executive of FEO, commented: “We’re delighted to have Cranswick plc on board as an FEO Key Partner.
“We now have seven prestigious Key Partners who not only support the work we do, but also share our vision for growing a strong local economy.
“As one of our region’s largest employers, Cranswick’s contribution to FEO will be invaluable, and I’m looking forward to working with them.”
Cranswick plc is committed to contributing towards the economic and cultural regeneration of the region. As well as supporting FEO, the firm will also be the Freedom Festival’s headline sponsor for the next three years.
Mark Bottomley, finance director of Cranswick plc, said: “Startup businesses are thriving in Hull thanks to the continued support of organisations like FEO, so we jumped at the chance to help them continue their great work and become a Key Partner.
“We want to support the long-term regeneration of Hull and believe organisations like FEO play a pivotal role in helping the city’s entrepreneurial spirit to flourish.”
Cranswick plc is based on Sutton Fields in Hull and is one of the UK’s largest food producers. The firm operates from 15 food production facilities in the UK.
For Entrepreneurs Only is a Community Interest Company, made up of entrepreneurs seeking to help boost the local economy by creating wealth and employment opportunities.
Contributing £3bn to the area’s economy every year, FEO’s 130 members employ over 18,000 people in the Hull and East Yorkshire region.
