St Helens-headquartered Kingdom becomes £105m-turnover firm with latest acquisition

Support services firm Kingdom has hit a new milestone in its ongoing expansion strategy with the acquisition of Luton-based facilities management company Ocean.

St Helens-headquartered Kingdom now has a turnover of £105m and employs around 5,600 people across the UK after snapping up Ocean, which has three UK offices and a workforce of 2,200.

Kingdom chief exec Terry Barton said: “The acquisition strengthens Kingdom’s services in facilities management and will enable Kingdom to grow further in the coming years.”

The transaction was supported by North West law firm Taylors Solicitors, which advised Kingdom on the deal.

Nigel Whittle, Kingdom’s external financial director, commented: “Taylors acted with speed and efficiency, to help ensure the acquisition proceeded as smoothly as possible.

“Kingdom has worked with their teams on previous deals and always been happy with the service and advice we’ve received.”

The Taylors team, led by Andrew Livesey, Angela Bhaseen and Peter Crewe, worked to ensure the contract details were completed quickly.

Commenting on the acquisition, Andrew said: “This was a significant transaction for both parties which was completed in a short timescale.

“The Taylors team worked hard to resolve any issues and to deliver a successful outcome. It was a pleasure working with the team at Kingdom again as it is a dynamic and focussed business.”
