North Yorkshire reservoir site launched to market
A former reservoir site in Timble, North Yorkshire, has hit the market.
Keyland Developments Ltd, the property trading arm of Kelda Group and sister-company to York in Timble, North Yorkshire shire Water, has brought the site to market following the sale of two similar restoration developments.
Keyland has appointed property agent Dacre Son & Hartley to launch the listed Beecroft Barn, located in a woodland setting just 600m from Fewston Reservoir, to market with planning permission for a detached family home.
The residential property is designed to be created within an existing structure to blend into the surrounding landscape.
Keyland’s residential portfolio incorporates a range of former Yorkshire Water sites with outlooks on which it has secured planning permission for several residential development opportunities in the region.
The Fewston Reservoir site has been brought to market following the sale of two former reservoir sites also in North Yorkshire, recently purchased by owner occupiers seeking opportunities to create new homes.
A redundant farm complex on the banks of Grimwith Reservoir in Appletreewick within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, which overlooks the largest reservoir owned by Yorkshire Water, was sold for £246k.
In addition, a former stable block on the southern banks of Gouthwaite Reservoir near the Michelin starred Yorke Arms in Pateley Bridge was sold with planning permission in place for £196k.
Ryan Unsworth, development manager at Keyland Developments, said: “There continues to be a high level of demand from individuals seeking to create one-off homes in coveted areas of the region, but opportunities to acquire properties such as these remain scarce.
“The sites we acquire from Yorkshire Water and secure planning consent on, enable us to release to market previously untapped land that is surplus to requirements and often brings a wealth of history and character with it.”
