Six-figure boost unlocks fleet expansion for Manchester-based Excel Excavations

Excel Excavations, a provider of bulk excavations and ground remediation services, has expanded its vehicle fleet after securing a six-figure asset finance facility with Barclays.

Using the bank’s support to acquire two new Scania trucks, the Manchester firm’s fleet now encompasses 13 Scania trucks and four Hyundai excavators.

Excel Excavations, which also supplies building aggregates, counts a number of regional and national companies among its clients, including infrastructure group Balfour Beatty, engineering consultant Costain, construction company Russell’s and housebuilders Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon Homes.

Director Allan Sice, who founded Excel Excavations four years ago, said: “I would like to thank Barclays for their enthusiastic support for this transaction.

“They understand our business and were on hand to help us increase our fleet to meet the growing demand for our services.”

He added: “We have quickly established a successful business which is now set for further growth.”

Barclays’ Manchester-based relationship director, Brett Armer, commented: “Over the last few months we have spent time helping the customer both with providing the funding they need to grow and working with them around avoiding the potential issues faced with fast growing businesses.

“Allan and the team have really adapted to the demands of a growing business and we will continue to support them as they expand.”
